From villain to savior

By nature, all NFL coaches are arrogant.

There are degrees, of course. From Mike Tice’s folksy “let me teach you what I know approach ” to Brian Billick’s “How dare you question me -- I invented the game gimmick.”

That said, all NFL mentors subscribe to one theory rather religiously -- If you listen to the fans, you will end up be sitting next to them.

In this town, the head coach is a lot closer to the Billick side of the coaching spectrum.

Andy Reid is as stubborn and arrogant as they come. Only Billick’s professorial nature makes him a more unlikable character than an Eagles coach, who also thinks he reinvented the wheel that is the game of football. More >>
