Report: Flash to land on DL

According to an article on philly.com by Marcus Hayes, Phillies closer Tom Gordon will be place on the disabled list today because of inflammation in his rotator cuff.

Hayes reported that Gordon received a cortisone injection in his shoulder to reduce the inflammation. Gordon won't throw again until Monday and would need four days after that before pitching again.

Brett Myers, who picked up his first career save in the Phillies 9-7 win on Thursday, should remain the team's closer.
