Cowher to retire

The Phanatic has learned that Pittsburgh Steelers head coach Bill Cowher will retire on Monday or Tuesday. Cowher will cite a desire to spend more time with his family. The top in-house candidates to replace him will be Ken Whisenhunt and Russ Grimm but Dan Rooney will also look heavily into hiring a minority candidate with Chicago defensive coordinator Ron Rivera high on his list.
