PSU's season ends in 66-60 loss to Illini

Penn State's only consistency during the 2006-07 season was its inconsistent play during large stretches of a game. The Nittany Lions raced out to a 13-2 lead behind Mike Walker -- who drained a Big Ten Tournament-record seven three-pointers -- and senior David Jackson, but saw Illinois go on a 12-0 stretch as part of a 20-3 burst in the opening half.

The Nittany Lions fell behind by as many as 16 points in the second half, but Walker's long-distance shooting kept the club in the game until the final seconds. Penn State finished its season a disappointing 11-19.

PSU basketball? Come on. This writer is like a PR machine for that school.
