Phillies pleased by Garcia exam results

Philadelphia Inquirer staff writer Steve King reported Thursday that the Phillies were encouraged by Freddy Garcia's exam results following a bicep injury in the first inning of Wednesday's 10-6 victory over Toronto.

Assistant general manager Ruben Amaro stated that the bicep is tender, but still has good strength, and that the club planned on shutting Garcia down for several days as a precaution. It is still too early to tell, according to Amaro, if the right-hander will begin the season on the disabled list.
