Phillies manager Charlie Manuel said after his club's spring game against Atlanta yesterday that Brett Myers will start Opening Day. The Phillies open the season in Philadelphia this year.
"I've worked hard to make it to the big leagues," Myers said. "I just have to keep working to stay where I am. It means a lot (to start Opening Day). It would be nice to be categorized with (John) Smoltz and all those (No. 1) guys, but I think any of our guys can be put in that spot and perform."
