Flyers recall Riley Cote

The Philadelphia Flyers recalled forward Riley Cote from their American Hockey League affiliate, the Philadelphia Phantoms, on Thursday. In addition, the team announced that forward Darren Reid was reassigned to the Phantoms.

Cote, 25, recorded a goal and four assists for five points and 106 penalty minutes in 35 games for the Phantoms this season. He is third on the Phantoms in penalty minutes with 106. Over the last three seasons with the Phantoms (2004-05 through 2006-07), Cote has registered eight goals and 12 assists for 20 points and 645 penalty minutes in 166 regular season games. He was signed as a free agent by the Flyers on August 23, 2005.

Reid, 23, was scoreless in 14 games for the Flyers this season. He has registered 16 goals and nine assists for 25 points and 19 penalty minutes in 47 AHL games this season for the Phantoms and the Springfield Falcons. His 16 goals are tied for the team lead. He has posted 24 points (15G,9A) and 14 penalty minutes in 37 games for the Phantoms and recorded a goal and five penalty minutes in 10 games for the Falcons.

He was acquired by the Flyers from the Tampa Bay Lightning in exchange for Daniel Corso on November 9, 2006.A native of Lac La Biche, Alberta, Reid has posted an assist and 18 penalty minutes in 21 career NHL regular season games over the last two seasons for the Lightning and the Flyers (2005-06 and 2006-07). He was drafted by the Lightning in the eighth round (256th overall) of the 2002 NHL Entry Draft.
