Pro Football Talk first floated that the Philadelphia Eagles were responsible for leaking information that free-agent wide receiver Donte' Stallworth is in the league's drug-testing program in an effort to scare off other potential suitors. This morning, 610 WIP's Rhea Hughes steadfastly confirmed the organization was responsible for the leak.
The classless move was not an effort to scare off other teams, however. They already have that information at their disposal. The leak was a P.R. move designed to prepare a fan base for the inevitable loss of a player they had embraced.

What a crock. Rhea Hughes has no inside connection to the Eagles. Maybe to a fellow horse like Barbaro, but not the Eagles.
This is rediculous. The fact that WIP is blaming the Eagles front office is nothing more than the continued wasted noise coming from that radio station.
Think about it -- if I were working for, say Tennessee, and I wanted to leak that information to try to get Stallworth on my team, would I leak it to Tennessee press? Of course not.
Because it came from a Philly paper does NOT implicate the Eagles in any shape, size, or form. Anyone, and any team, that wanted this to get out, would go to the Philly Inky to keep the fingers AWAY from the real source, and hopefully get druids like you to think it came from the eagles FO.

If ANYTHING, the Saints had the incentive to leak the information. Should Stallworth sign a deal with the Eagles, the Saints get a 3rd round draft pick, instead of a 4th.
Rhea Hughes (as echoed earlier) has absolutely ZERO connection to any type of insider within the Eagles organization. If Eskin reported it, I might give it a slight more credence.

Rhea Hughes has very little credibilty. She has an agenda just like the "host" of that morning show. Every single year they RIP the Eagles at this time of year. They would prefer the Eagles were like the Redskins - king of the free agency moves- reality is you build through the DRAFT and TWEAK with Free Agency. Rhea last year wanted Moulds and Antonio Bryant. Where are they now? Oh yeah on the street. People need to keep in mind that they are this way because they have NOTHING else to talk about. The Sixers and Flyers STINK. The Eagles are the PHILLY SPORTS SCENE.
Blogs like this prove to me that 90% of Eagles fans really just have no clue. Brookover himself (that's the author of the article, people) confirmed the Eagles weren't the source. But it's fun to rip the management of a team who has overseen their most successful run in the history of the franchise. For them, at least.
Kudos to Anon above with the Rhea Hughes analogy. 610 is garbage.

Multiple reports have already confirmed it was not the Eagles who leaked it.
