Bob Brookover of the Philadelphia Inquirer cleared up some things about former Eagles wide out Donte' Stallworth today.
First, Brookover reported that Stallworth has not sighed with the New England Patriots, citing agent Drew Rosenhaus' conversation with profootballtalk.com, something we at The Phanatic Magazine also pointed out yesterday.
So, according to Brookover, Stallworth did visit with the Patriots, left without a deal, and will still visit the Titans and Dolphins.
However, more interesting to Eagles fans is that the Birds did contact Rosenhaus yesterday, according to Brookover. However, it was to inform the agent that the Eagles were not that team that leaked the fact that Stallworth is in the NFL's substance-abuse program, something Brookover writes to be true.
Looks like the Birds dodged a PR black eye there.
Finally, Brookover says that Rosenhaus asked Philly if they would be interested in working out a one-year deal with Stallworth once and if the sides start talking. The Eagles, apparently, would be open to such an idea.
