CHICAGO (November 8, 2010) - Philadelphia Union's Amobi Okugo has been named to the U.S. U-20 Men's National Team roster for the Torneo de las Americas, taking place at the Kennesaw State University in Georgia, November 21-29.
Okugo and the National Team will face Colombia on November 26 and Mexico two days later, with both matches scheduled to kick off at 3:30 p.m. EST.
Okugo's last appearance with Head Coach Thomas Rongen's squad was against Mexico at the Dallas Cup on March 28, where the U.S. fell 1-0 to its southern neighbors. The 19-year-old was also part of the U.S. Team that qualified for the 2009 FIFA U-20 World Cup last year.
In his rookie season with Philadelphia Union, the midfielder played a total of 11 games (four as a starter) and 437 minutes. Okugo has also seen action in the Union's international friendlies against Scottish Premier League team Celtic FC, English Premier League's Manchester United and Mexican First Division club Chivas de Guadalajara.
