Cummings signs LOI to play at Temple

Will Cummings, a 6-1, 170-pound guard out of the Providence School in Jacksonville, Fla., has signed a National Letter of Intent to play men’s basketball at Temple University.

“Will is an outstanding young man from a wonderful family and he will be a great addition to the our basketball program,” said Temple head coach Fran Dunphy. “We are looking forward to great things from him during his Temple career.”

A true point guard, Cummings averaged 10 points, six assists, three rebounds and three steals in helping lead Providence to Class AA Florida State Championship as a junior in 2009-10.  Ranked as the 34th best point guard by ESPN.com, the Jacksonville, Fla. native is a strong defensive player as evidenced by his school record eight steals in a game last season.

Cummings is the first signee with the Temple men’s basketball Class of 2015.
