The Eagles signed WR's Jordan Norwood and Dobson Collins, and C A.Q. Shipley to three-year resrve/future contracts on Monday.
Originally an undrafted rookie free agent signing of Cleveland in 2009, Norwood (5-11, 179) spent the majority of his rookie season on the Eagles practice squad and appeared in one game at Atlanta on December 6. A four-year letterman at Penn State, Norwood finished his collegiate career with 158 receptions for 2,015 yards and 13 touchdowns.
A rookie free agent signing of San Francisco in 2009, Collins (6-2, 178) was signed to the Eagles practice squad on 10/22/09 after being released by the 49ers practice squad on 10/5/09. A two-sport standout at Gardener-Webb, Collins was a two-time All-Big South selection as a receiver and punter returner. In 42 games (22 starts), he totaled 143 receptions, 1,754 yards, and 14 touchdowns.
A.Q. Shipley (6-1, 297) was drafted by Pittsburgh Steelers in the 7th round of the 2009 draft, and spent his entire rookie campaign on their practice squad. A three-year starter for Penn State, Shipley earned All-America honors as a senior in 2008 and was also the recipient of the Rimington Trophy, which is awarded annually to the nation’s best collegiate center. He is a native of Coraopolis, PA.
