The Sixers come off the road after six straight games away from the Wachovia Center to face Houston. Philly has won two of the team's last three home games and will now play six of their next nine games at home. The Sixers have seen improved shooting, as they have outshot their opponent in nine of the last 11 games. Since Tony DiLeo has taken over as head coach, the Sixers have shot 48.2% from the floor. Over their last five games, the Sixers have received increased production from Andre Miller, who is scoring 18.6 points per game on 56.3% shooting, while handing out 6.4 assists and grabbing 4.6 rebounds. Last season against the Rockets, Miller averaged 21.5 points and 9.0 assists while the Sixers won both games against Houston, marking its first season sweep of Houston since 1988-89.
The Rockets are led into this game by the inside-out duo of Yao Ming and Tracy McGrady. Ming leads the team in scoring with 19.8 points a game, with McGrady behind him with 15.8 points. However, the Rockets could be without the services of McGrady, who was held out of the team's last game with a sore left knee. Also on the injured list last game for Houston was Shane Battier (inflamed left foot) and Ron Artest (sore right ankle).
