The Philadelphia Eagles signed CB Dimitri Patterson to the active roster and placed G Mike McGlynn (hamstring) on Injured Reserve.
In addition, the team signed WR Danny Amendola and G Tim Duckworth to the practice squad and released WR Drisan James and CB Jonathan Hefney from the practice squad.
Patterson (5-10, 190) spent the last two seasons with the Kansas City Chiefs, playing in seven games in 2008 before being released on 10/30/08. After making the final roster following training camp in 2007, he saw action in 20 games and ranked second on the team with 14 special teams tackles during that span.
Patterson, 25, originally signed as a rookie free agent with the Washington Redskins in 2005. He was promoted to the active roster on 10/1/05, playing in three games and recording one interception. He was released following training camp in 2006 and eventually signed to Minnesota’s practice squad for the final week of that season.
A product of Tuskegee University, Patterson recorded 3 interceptions, returned two blocked field goals for touchdowns and also returned a blocked PAT for two points. He transferred from Southeast Missouri State following his junior year where he tallied nine interceptions and was twice named a NCAA Division I-AA All-American.
Amendola (5-11, 183) spent the 2008 season on the Dallas Cowboys practice squad after signing with the Cowboys as a rookie free agent following the 2008 draft. The 23-year old earned All-Big 12 second-team honors as a senior at Texas Tech after ranking fourth in the nation with 103 catches for 1,177 yards and five touchdowns in 2007. He also earned All-Big 12 first-team honors as a return specialist, returning 29 punts for 371 yards (12.8-yard average) as a true freshman in 2004.
Duckworth (6-4, 318) was originally signed by the Denver Broncos as an undrafted free agent in 2007, but was released and later signed by the New Orleans Saints, spending the last two seasons on their practice squad. The 26-year old was a two-year starter at right guard at Auburn, after originally beginning his collegiate career as a defensive tackle.
