UFC's Jackson in hot water

UFC star Quinton Jackson, who recently lost the light heavyweight title to Forrest Griffin, was charged with felony hit and run, reckless driving and felony evading arrest after a car accident near Newport Beach, CA. Tuesday.

Costa Mesa police received a report that a vehicle with Jackson's photo on it involved in a collision on the 55 Freeway in Costa Mesa. The truck allegedly struck other vehicles and fled the scene.

Subsequently, an officer observed Jackson driving with a flat tire and talking on his cell phone. The officer attempted to pull Jackson over but was unsuccessful as Jackson continued driving. A chase ensued with Jackson's vehicle observed weaving in and out of traffic, driving on the wrong side of the road and on a sidewalk, according to police.

The truck continued to Newport Beach until the tire came off the rim and Jackson was arrested with guns drawn. The Memphis native was about to be booked into the Orange County jail when he was determined to be "medically unfit."
Jackson is currently under evaluation at an Orange County hospital.

In an interview conducted with Throwdown TV 24 hours before the incident (video link), Jackson revealed that he had been battling depression in recent weeks.
