Fourth-line forward Patrick Thoresen officially left the club on Monday, signing a one-year deal with Swiss hockey team Lugano.
The 24-year-old registered five assists in 21 regular-season games for the Flyers after being claimed off waivers from the Edmonton Oilers on February 22. He added a pair of helpers in 14 postseason contests, and was most notable for taking a shot to the groin in the conference quarterfinals against the Washington Capitals.
He declined a two-way contract offered by general manager Paul Holmgren last week and was free thereafter to seek a contract with another team.
Thoresen was the first Norwegian in NHL history to suit up for a playoff game and was the first native of Norway to play for the Flyers.
In two NHL seasons, Thoresen registered six goals and 24 points in 106 games with Edmonton and Philadelphia.
