Join us on the radio

Join The Phanatic Magazine's John Gottlieb and John McMullen Saturday at 6:30 p.m. (et) for another edition of Johns on Sports, coming to you live from the studios of WTBQ 99.1 FM in New York.

After a three-week vacation from the internet the show is back at a brand new time.

A lot has happened since our last show at the end of June, including a 10-game win streak for the Mets, an All-Star game at Yankee Stadium, and the start of the second half of baseball.

Now we look forward to the baseball trading deadline and the final 65 games of the season.

Dan Graziano, baseball writer for the Newark Star-Ledger, returns to the program at 6:45 to talk about the needs for the Yanks and Mets as the deadline looms near.

At 7:30 Ross Bernstein, author of The Code: Baseball's Unwritten Rules and It's Ignore-at-Your-Own-Risk Code of Conduct, comes on to talk about the unwritten rules that all players learn to follow...or else.

It's also a big fight night as Donald Trump dives in the the world of MMA with Affliction Banned, featuring Fedor Emelianenko against Tim Sylvia. Emelianenko, who is widely considered the the greatest heaveyweight MMA fighter, returns to the ring for the first time since December 31st.

Not to be outdone, Dana White and the UFC will put on a free event on Spike tonight when the best pound-for-pound fighter in the world, Anderson Silva, moves up a weight class to light heavyweight to square off against James Irvin.

Our MMA guru Jason Probst from Sherdog.com will join us at 8:15 to breakdown all the action and the freefall of Quinton "Rampage" Jackson.

All that and more tonight on Johns on Sports. Join the program on WTBQ.com, calling in at (845) 651-1110, or writing an e-mail to johnsonsports@gmail.com.
