Eye on Lehigh; McNabb actually throws a fade!

PLAY OF THE DAY…

During full-team drills at this morning’s practice, the offense scored touchdowns on three straight plays in goal line situations, highlighted by a beautiful fade pass from QB Donovan McNabb to WR Hank Baskett.

BIRDSEED…

Offensive coordinator Marty Mornhinweg keyed in on the ‘play of the day’ combination of Donovan McNabb and Hank Baskett during today’s press conference. On McNabb, the coach said, “Of all the great players I have coached, Donovan, I think, has a chance to be a first-ballot Hall of Famer. I really think that.” Likewise, when asked about the fade route that Baskett ran so well, Mornhinweg said that, “He does many things well, and that’s one of them. He also does multiple other things for us that most fans don’t see. He’s a big, physical man who does quite a few different things for us.”

Hank Baskett is no stranger to acrobatic leaps as he holds the New Mexico high school high jump record of 7’-0’’. Baskett captured the Mountain West conference championship as a junior at New Mexico. It’s a skill that he continues to apply to the football field. “High jumping taught me body control. Especially in those jump ball situations.”
