June radio ratings - WIP continues to dip, WPEN shows slight rebound

The latest Arbitron ratings for June and sports radio in Philadelphia is losing listeners at an alarming rate.

WIP took another huge hit falling from a 2.8 to a 2.4. Cumulative listeners dropped from 477, 500 to 362,500 at 610. In April, WIP was at a 3.7 and 668,800 cumulative listeners.

Yes, WIP has lost nearly half of its audience in two months. Things will bounce back a bit during Eagles season but no there is no spin that can paint those numbers as anything more than disastrous.

But, before ESPN 950 fans rejoice, take a seat. WPEN did gain, moving from an 0.3 to an 0.4 and its cumulative listeners went from 129,300 to 134,400 but ESPN 950 ratings are still below what they were before the station brought Mike Missanelli back to Philly and went with 'Mike and Mike' in the morning.

For the market, WIP is 19th and WPEN is dead last of the station's rated by Arbitron at 32.
