TWA returns to Flyers SkateZone for 1-year anniversary

Voorhees, NJ - Local pro wrestling returns to Voorhees on Saturday, Oct. 23 when the Tri-State Wrestling Alliance hosts its 1-year anniversary show at the Flyers SkateZone.

South Jersey business man Mike Tartaglia, a wrestler in the original TWA as Mike Bruno in the early 1990s, resurrected the current brand with a reunion show in October of last year.

Tartaglia has been running shows in South Jersey and Pennsylvania ever since billing them as family friendly and suitable for kids while also leaning heavily on the workrate aspect of the industry that takes me back to the days of territorial wrestling.

Over the last year, the TWA has featured such World Wrestling Entertainment legends as Jimmy "Superfly" Snuka, Demolition, Al Snow, Stacy "The Kat" Carter and Kamala the Ugandan Giant along with TWA Originals "Hitman" Tony Steston, "The Beast" Glen Osbourne and "The Living Legend" Larry Winters.

Tartaglia has also sprinkled his cards with kid's favorites like "Shockwave the Robot", Mr. Ooh La La, The Blue Meanie and Kid America along with solid independent talent like current TWA Champion Breaker Morant, TWA Tag Team Champions "The Best Around" TJ Cannon & Bruce Maxwell, the Logan Brothers, and "Mr. Wrestling" Steve Corino.

The TWA has also raised awareness and funds for several charities and the company will be collecting food donations at the 1-year anniversary show for the Food Bank of South Jersey. Anyone bringing a non-perishable or canned food item to the event will receive a free TWA magnet.

Morant will headline the anniversary card by defending his TWA crown against"Beautiful" Bobby Shields. Meanwhile a pair of rivalries will be settled in the steel cage when "Sensei" Paul Lopresti tangles with Winters, and Stetson battles Osbourne in the culmination of the company's biggest rivalry.

Since last April Stetson and his former friend Osbourne have battled in a  brutal series of bouts. Osbourne, who grabbed headlines last week in Delaware by turning on East Coast Wrestling Association headliner Mega and costing him his ECWA title, did the same thing against to Stetson when "The Hitman" was trying to claim TWA gold against Corino.

The undercard features a TWA tag team title match when The Best Around defend their championship against "Team MackTion" TJ & Kirby Mack as well as a six-man tag match with high stakes as The Red, White & Blue Express of The Blue Meanie, Kid America and Courageous Cruz take on Kermon the German, "Pitbull" Timothy Richards and Jason Leigh. If the Red, White and Blue Express win that one, they will get five minutes in the ring alone with manager Carlton P. Hightower but if they lose, Kid America must unmask.

Other featured bouts are Adam Cole versus Josh Daniels and Shockwave battling "Midnight Idol" Nicky Benz.

Bell time is at 4:00 p.m. and tickets can be purchased at the door or via paypal at www.twaprowrestling.com. Tickets are $12 & $10 and just $6 & $5 for any visiting ECWA fans with a valid Delaware Driver's License.
