Temple rallies to beat Army

Matt Brown ran for a career-high 226 yards and scored four touchdowns as Temple rallied to beat Army, 42-35, in West Point on Saturday.

The diminutive Brown replaced Heisman Trophy candidate Bernard Pierce, who was sidelined with a high ankle sprain suffered at Penn State last week, in the Owls' starting lineup.

Army (3-2) had a comfortable 28-13 edge midway through the third quarter after Trent Steelman 3-yard TD run but Temple (4-1) answered with four straight scores to take command.

Wideout Joe Jones ignited the Owls by finding Michael Campbell for a 24-yard touchdown on a reverse. Campbell then added an 8-yard TD catch on the first play of the fourth quarter to even the game.

Brown followed with TD runs of 11 and 20 yards in the fourth quarter to give Temple the advantage for good.
