Sixers' Jordan gone; Stefanski stays for now

The Sixers have scheduled an 11:00 am press conference at the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine to announce the firing of head coach Eddie Jordan.
Philadelphia finished a disappointing 27-55 season with another poor performance Wednesday night in Orlando..
Comcast-Spectacor, the parent company of the Sixers, is on the hook for the additional $6 million owed to Jordan through 2011-2012 season.

In somewhat of a surprise, the guy who made the disastrous decision to hire Jordan, Sixers' President and General Manager Ed Stefanski, will stay on for now and make the announcement of Jordan's dismissal.

"Decisions of this nature are never easy, but I am making this change because I didn’t feel significant progress was being made on either end of the court," Stefanski said. "As the season progressed, it became increasingly clear to me that this was necessary in order to provide a new direction for our team and gain more continuity."
