950 ESPN's Jody MacDonald announced today was his last day at the station.
"This is the last show I will be doing for this radio station. The radio station has decided to go in another direction and I am perfectly fine with that," MacDonald said. "They informed me this week that my services are no longer needed.
"I saw it coming. I knew this job was going to end at some time, and it officially ends today. I will miss talking to Philadelphia sports fans, they're the best on the planet. I'm not retired, I'm not going anywhere, I've got other gigs right now...This has been my home for 19 years...I truly hope I get to talk Philadelphia sports with you again down the road at another radio station."
Dan Schwartzman will replace MacDonald next to Harry Mayes in the 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. slot.
"Jody has been one of the keys to the station's success and we thank him for his many contributions," Program Director Matt Nahigian said in a statement.
McDonald does have two other gigs to fall back on. He co-hosts “The Show” with Rob Dibble on Sirius XM’s baseball talk channel “Home Plate,” weekdays from 4 p.m.- 6 p.m. and works weekends on ESPN 1050-AM in New York City.

Asinine move. Jody Mac wasn't the problem at 950. Marketing him and the station itself is the problem. Perhaps Nahigian should look in the mirror and hold himself accountable.
Harry Mayes AND Dan Schwartzman?
My ears are bleeding already.
I'm waiting for the day when Harry interviews Shane Victorino and our heads can explode from seeing if Harry gets in more "uhs" than Shane does "you knows."
Schwartzman is horrible... I don't know anyone who likes him. He was like the really bad little league player you hid in rightfield by being on the air in the night. He has to be related to someone big at that station or have incriminating photos.
