Independence puts tickets on sale

The Philadelphia Independence unveiled its 2010 Season Ticket Program as well as release the team’s initial line of fan merchandise on Tuesday.

The 2010 Season Ticket Program provides Independence fans with ticket features that include significant discounts off gate price, guaranteed same seat for 10 home matches, invitations to exclusive team and “meet the player” events, and savings on Philadelphia Independence merchandise.

Fans have several seating areas and pricing categories to choose from and can purchase season tickets using a convenient payment plan option. All ticket packages are based on a 10-home game schedule and provide outstanding field viewing.

“Our first priority is to the fans of Philadelphia, and we have put together a flexible and cost-effective season ticket package that provides every fan with a terrific match experience at a price everyone can afford," Independence General Manager Terry Foley said. "We hope fans in the area show their support for the team early on by securing their season tickets for 2010 – and in the process becoming part of history as we bring world-class soccer back to Philadelphia.”

Online ticketing will be provided by TicketLeap Inc., the Philadelphia-based ticketing, fulfillment, and technology firm that has extensive experience in the Delaware Valley Region’s sports and entertainment markets.

“We are proud to be serving the Philadelphia Independence, Women’s Professional Soccer (WPS), and the Philadelpia soccer communities," TicketLeap Vice President Michael Vaughan said. "TicketLeap prides itself on providing excellent customer service and responsiveness along with user-friendly technologies in its ticket ordering and transaction operations. We are excited to work with the Independence organization and know this will be a terrific partnership for our company, the fans, and the Philadelphia franchise.”

Once completed, the new Chester soccer-specific stadium will be the permanent home of the Independence. However, team officials state that just in case all tenant stadium leases are not finalized by the end of March 2010 when the WPS team begins season play, the Independence is securing an alternate playing venue within a few miles of the city to serve as home field for the team’s 2010 inaugural season.

In addition to the launch of its 2010 Season Ticket Program, the Philadelphia Independence has established an eCommerce and retail partnership with Angelo’s Soccer Corner for purchase of the team’s merchandise and spirit wear.

Pennsylvania-based and doing business for more than 20-years, Angelo’s Soccer Corner has established itself as one of the premier soccer suppliers in the country.

“As soon as we unveiled our logo, Independence fans and supporters began requesting merchandise with our brand identification," Steve Scebelo, Independence Executive Director of Sponsorships and Marketing said. "Angelo’s Soccer Corner has an outstanding reputation in this industry and is well-known throughout our region for supplying soccer merchandise. They are the perfect partner for our team’s official Pro Shop and to respond to our fans’ needs. Angelo’s is already underway building exciting inventories for us.”

The first assortment of Independence gear being made available to fans will include a mix of t-shirts, hoodies, and replica jerseys, which will be expanded to a wider array of items, including Independence hats, flags, decals and more.
