The Eagles claimed DT Antonio Dixon off waivers from the Washington Redskins Sunday and released QB A.J. Feeley.
The 6-3, 322-pound Dixon was originally signed by the Redskins as a rookie free agent following the 2009 draft. He saw action in all four preseason games with the Redskins this summer and posted eight tackles before being released yesterday as part of their final roster cut down.
The 24-year-old Dixon played collegiately at the University of Miami (FL), registering 71 tackles, 8.5 tackles for a loss and 2.5 sacks in 40 games (10 starts) for the Hurricanes. He is a product of Booker T. Washington High School in Miami.
Feeley started seven games in six seasons with the Eagles over two stints. He has thrown for 4,070 yards, 27 touchdowns and 29 interceptions in 23 career games, including eight starts with the Miami Dolphins in 2004.
The Birds also started putting together their practice squad, re-signing WR Danny Amendola, G Paul Fanaika, G Mike Gibson, and TE Rob Myers.
