Phils offer arbitration to Dellucci

In a move that can only be described as a no-brainer, the Phillies offered salary arbitration to outfielder David Dellucci on Friday night.

Dellucci, who already has a three-year deal worked out with Cleveland, is a Type-A free agent -- the top classification under the collective bargaining agreement. That means, once Dellucci officially signs with the Indians, the Phillies will get Cleveland's second-round draft pick next June, plus a compensatory pick between the first and second rounds.

The Phillies did not offer arbitration to pitchers Aaron Fultz, Arthur Rhodes and Rick White; catcher Mike Lieberthal; and infielder Jose Hernandez.
