According to one source on Friday afternoon, the Flyers inked defenseman Mark Alt to a contract. That has been confirmed by the Post Star on Saturday morning.
Alt, who was dealt to the Flyers in mid-January in the deal that also grabbed Brian Boucher back from the Carolina Hurricanes, finished his junior season with the Minnesota Golden Gophers.
The 21-year-old native of the Twin Cities totaled seven assists in 39 games, as the Gophers were eliminated in their first NCAA tournament contest by Yale in a 3-2 overtime thriller.
In three collegiate seasons, the 6-foot-3, 205-pound Alt compiled seven goals and 39 points in 127 appearances.
