There are only seven games left in the regular season, but the hits keep on coming to the Flyers defense.
Kent Huskins is out indefinitely with a concussion suffered at the elbow of Montreal's Ryan White in the first period of last night's 7-3 win at Montreal, then club GM Paul Holmgren revealed this afternoon that Bruno Gervais is lost for the season to surgery which aims to correct a stomach muscle pull.
Gervais had been a scratch for the victory against the Northeast Division leaders, and will undergo the procedure this coming Thursday.
That means two more Phantoms will get their call to the Show as the Orange and Black take on the Rangers at home in the back end of consecutive games with travel in between.
Brandon Manning and Matt Konan are on their way down from Glens Falls to provide backup for a blueline corps which is comprised of spare parts with the exception of Kimmo Timonen.
Manning and Konan won't be alone, since Phantoms teammates Erik Gustafsson and Oliver Lauridsen have already logged plenty of minutes with Philly this year.
Konan has been assigned #34, while Manning will wear #32. If Konan steps onto the ice, it will be his NHL debut, while Manning appeared in four NHL contests last season, but did not record a point.
