PHILADELPHIA - The Flyers have acquired left wing Jay Rosehill from the Anaheim Ducks in exchange for fellow LW Harry Zolnierczyk.
The 6-foot-3, 215-pound Rosehill, 27 has spent the season with Anaheim’s American Hockey League affiliate, the Norfolk Admirals. In 33 games this season, he has four goals and four assists for eight points, along with 90 penalty minutes.
Before signing with Anaheim prior to this season, Rosehill spent 3 1/2 seasons with the Toronto Maple Leafs organization. He has appeared in 72 career NHL games, all with Toronto, contributing two goals and three assists while recording 198 PIM.
Rosehill has appeared in 360 American Hockey League games over parts of eight seasons, during which time he has 23 goals and 31 assists for 54 points along with 1,018 PIM.
Zolnierczyk, 25, signed with the Flyers as a free agent on March 8, 2011. He appeared in 44 games for the Flyers, scoring three goals and adding four assists for seven points, along with 71 PIM.
In 107 games over parts of three seasons with the Flyers’ American Hockey League affiliate, the Adirondack Phantoms, Zolnierczyk registered 20 goals and 23 assists for 43 points and 128 PIM.
