Brackins signs to play in Italy

(The Phanatic Magazine) - Former Sixers forward Craig Brackins has signed with the Italian team Angelico Biella.

Originally drafted with the 21st overall pick by the Oklahoma City Thunder in the 2010 NBA Draft, Brackins quickly moved to the New Orleans Hornets along with fellow rookie Quincy Pondexter in exchange for the rights to Cole Aldrich and Morris Peterson.

He was then eventually traded to the Sixers along with Darius Songaila in exchange for Willie Green and Jason Smith.

Brackins rarely played in Philly and the team was not interested in bringing his back after his rookie contract expired at the end of the 2011-12 season.

Brackins played with the Boston Celtics entry in the recent Orlando Pro Summer League as well as the NBA Summer League in Las Vegas.

He garnered some overseas experience during the 2011 NBA lockout playing for Maccabi Ashdod B.C. in Israel.
