Eagles make practice squad move

The Philadelphia Eagles today announced they have signed DT Babatunde Oshinowo (Ba-ba-TOON-day OH-shi-no-who) to the practice squad. He replaces LB Andy Studebaker, who was signed by the Kansas City Chiefs.

The 6-foot-1, 304-pound Oshinowo spent the 2008 preseason with the Washington Redskins before being released on August 24. He spent the final three games of 2007 on the Chicago Bears active roster, playing in a reserve role in one contest against Green Bay on December 23. Prior to being signed to the 53-man roster, Oshinowo spent the previous 12 weeks on the Bears practice squad.

Oshinowo originally was drafted by the Cleveland Browns in the 6th round of the 2006 NFL draft. He was on the Browns 53-man roster for three games that season and made his NFL debut in the finale against Houston (12/31), where he totaled two tackles. Oshinowo spent the other 14 weeks on Cleveland's practice squad.

A four-year letterman and three-time Academic All-Pac-10 selection at Stanford (2002-05), Oshinowo played in 44 games with 34 consecutive starts. He compiled 145 career tackles, 15 sacks, three fumble recoveries and two forced fumbles for the Cardinal. He was born on January 14, 1983 in Naperville, IL, where he attended Neuqua Valley High School.
