This was just too funny not to post. An email I just received from a loyal reader:
"I can't wait for the press conference where Gillick shows up to announce the trade of Burrell for diddly squat looking like 20 opposing GMs have beaten him with a baseball bat and he hasn't slept in 48 hours. You know, like the Abreu conference. Then he can procede to tell us how either we won't contend until 2050 or, gosh darn it, he sure did try to get value for Burrell, but in a crazy market where everything costs more and Sheffield is worth 3 solid pitching prospects, Gillick was only able to get Randy Winn and a nearly dead reliever. I just don't see how Gillick has the leverage to make a decent trade after what the Yankees did to him last year. They waited him out and he caved. If you're a GM trying to trade for Burrell, why would you give up anything in return, especially if you're taking on most of the money? Gillick has made his bed and now we all forced to sleep there."
The prosecution rests its case your honor.
