In a stunning twist, Donovan McNabb and the Washington Redskins have reportedly agreed on a lucrative contract extension.
ESPN.com reported Monday said the deal was for five years and $78 million and could be worth up to $88 million with incentives. The story said $40 million would be guaranteed.
A spokesman for the Redskins would not confirm or deny the deal and said the team had no announcement planned.
The Redskins were gearing up to take on McNabb's old team, the Philadelphia Eagles, on Monday night.
McNabb was benched in the fourth quarter of Washington's last game, a 37-25 loss to the Detroit Lions on October 31.
