Temple's Coyer named to Paul Hornung Watch List

LOUISIVILLE  – The Louisville Sports Commission today named Temple senior Chris Coyer to the 2013 Watch List for the Paul Hornung Award.

The Paul Hornung Award, now in its fourth season, is given annually to the most versatile player in major college football by the Louisville Sports Commission and football legend and Louisville native Paul Hornung.

Coyer is a left-handed quarterback that moved to hybrid halfback during spring 2013 drills.

Named the Offensive Most Valuable Player of the 2011 Gildan New Mexico Bowl, Coyer saw action in 22 games over the last three seasons with 13 starts under center. In nine starts in 2012, Coyer finished 84-of-164 for 946 yards and eight touchdowns. He also finished second in rushing with 444 yards and two touchdowns on 111 carries.  Coyer, who received his bachelor’s degree in finance in May 2013, is pursuing a master’s degree in finance.
