Flyers add goaltending depth with Danis

Needing goaltending depth at the minor-league level, the Flyers signed free-agent netminder Yann Danis to a one-year, two-way contract.

Danis, a Brown University product, went 1-0-0 in three appearances for the Edmonton Oilers in 2013, but spent the majority of the season in the American Hockey League.

He was 26-15-6 with a 2.59 goals-against average, .911 save percentage and two shutouts with the Oklahoma City Barons, who advanced to the Western Conference Finals of the Calder Cup playoffs.

The signing is a strong indicator that Brian Boucher is either gone from the organization again, or will hang up the skates, as he is an unrestricted free agent.

A native of Quebec, Danis has played for the Canadiens, Devils and Oilers as a backup, going 17-21-4 with a 2.75 GAA in 53 games.

Scott Munroe is still the number one guy in the crease in Glens Falls, and Anthony Stolarz, late of the London Knights, is not AHL ready as a 19-year-old.
