Sixers to host open scrimmage at The Palestra

PHILADELPHIA, PA - The Sixers will host a free intrasquad scrimmage at the famed Palestra (220 S. 22nd St., Philadelphia) this Sunday, December 18 with doors opening at 5 p.m.

Tickets to the event, held at the Palestra with a capacity of 8,000, are free and available to the public upon arrival at the arena’s entrances. The first 1,500 fans will receive a free Sixers t-shirt.

"We're excited to be back on the court in an environment as unique at the Palestra to provide our fans with a sneak preview of this year's Sixers," said President of Basketball Operations Rod Thorn.

The Sixers Dancers will kick off the event with two performances beginning at 5:30 p.m.  Afterwards, the Sixers will take the court and run through some drills in order to prepare for an intrasquad scrimmage.

As part of the day's activities, Sixers Head Coach Doug Collins will wear a wireless microphone to give fans an added glimpse inside the team's scrimmage.
