NHL realignment plan set in motion

According to several sources across North America, the NHL will switch from a six-division format to a four-conference format.
In the new plan, two conferences will hold eight teams, while the other two will have seven. The
top four clubs in each will make the postseason.
These sources have indicated that the Flyers will be placed in a division alongside the Devils, Rangers, Islanders, Penguins, Capitals and Hurricanes.
