The Georgian Senior National Team used a surge near the end of the first half to open up a 49-30 edge at intermission and went on to post an 87-54 victory in the final game of Villanova’s exhibition tour of Europe on Sunday afternoon.
Juniors Dominic Cheek tallied 11 first quarter points and finished with 14 points on the afternoon. Classmates Mouphtaou Yarou and Maalik Wayns also added nine points. No Wildcat saw more than 25 minutes of action.
Zaza Pachulia of the NBA’s Atlanta Hawks paced Georgia with 20 points.
Villanova freshman Achraf Yacoubou came off the bench to supply eight points while JayVaughn Pinkston added seven points and six rebounds.
