Eagles bring back Mallet; cut FB Wright

The Eagles have recalled the waiver put on RB Martell Mallet Saturday, meaning he is back on the 80-man roster and will re-join the team for Monday’s practice. The Eagles also announced they have released FB Dwayne Wright.

Mallett (6-0, 210) spent the 2009 season as a member of the Canadian Football League’s BC Lions, where he rushed for 1,280 yards and six touchdowns on 214 carries (5.8 average), adding 43 receptions for 342 yards and two touchdowns. He was named to the West Division All-Star team and also earned the 2009 CFL Most Outstanding Rookie award.

The 24-year-old Mallett played collegiately at Arkansas-Pine Bluff, where he rushed for 2,896 yards and 27 touchdowns in his four-year career. The Pine Bluff, Arkansas native earned first-team all-SWAC honors as a senior in 2008.
