Le Toux earns MLS Player of the Week honors

NEW YORK (Monday, July 19, 2010) - Philadelphia Union forward Sebastien Le Toux was voted Major League Soccer Player of the Week by the North American Soccer Reporters (NASR) for Week 16 of the 2010 MLS season. Le Toux notched one assist and scored the game-winning penalty kick in the Philadelphia Union's victory over Toronto FC on Saturday, July 17 at PPL Park.

"I'm very flattered to be Player of the Week for the second time", said Philadelphia Union forward Sebastien Le Toux.  "I was lucky to get the PK at the end of the game and what is more important, to get the win for the team".

In the 61st minute, Le Toux drove a corner kick into the box toward the near post for Michael Orozco Fiscal.  Orozco Fiscal connected with the Le Toux corner kick and headed the ball inside the near post for the first goal of the game, and his first MLS goal.

With just seconds left and the game tied 1-1, a handball in the box set up a Philadelphia Union penalty kick. Le Toux stepped up and placed it past an outstretched Stefan Frei for the dramatic, 95th minute game-winning goal.

This is Le Toux's second Player of the Week award this season.
