The Philadelphia 76ers have named the 2010-11 Sixers Dancers, who will make their first full-team, public appearance at the 11th annual Summer Beach Bash, presented by Kia Motors America (KMA), Proud Partner of the Philadelphia 76ers, at Jack’s Place (36th and Ocean Drive, Avalon, N.J.) on Saturday, July 31 from 3 p.m. until 6 p.m.
The 14-member dance squad was chosen from 29 finalists that competed during the final auditions held on July 14 at Chickie’s and Pete’s in South Philadelphia . For the first time ever, the Sixers Dancers final auditions were streamed live on SIXERS.COM and included a component allowing fans to vote for their favorite Sixers Dancers finalists via text message, which resulted in over 10,000 votes. In addition to the fans vote, Coach Dayna Hafetz, a panel of celebrity judges and members of the Sixers staff selected the final team following the dance performances and interview questions.
The Sixers Dancers are entering their 15th season as an integral part of the Sixers game entertainment package. They represent the Sixers organization at most home games as well as promotional and community appearances throughout the year.
