Phillies pitcher Ryan Madson will undergo surgery on Tuesday to repair a broken right great toe.
The team made the decision after Madson underwent a CT scan on Monday. The timetable for his return will be determined post-surgery.
Madson has been on the disabled list since kicking a steel chair after blowing a save on April 29 in San Francisco.
Madson is 1-0 with a 7.00 earned run average with four saves in six opportunities this season.
