McDonald named PPL Park Director of Operations

Global Spectrum had named Jim McDonald, a 13-year veteran of operating stadiums and arenas, as PPL Park's first Director of Operations.

McDonald, a Philadelphia native, most recently was Direct of Operations for Global Spectrum at the University of Phoenix Stadium in Glendale, AZ, which is home to the National Football League's Arizona Cardinals.

While in Glendale, McDonald oversaw operations of the 63,000-seat multi-purpose stadium handling SuperBowl XLI, the NFC Championship Game, three Fiesta Bowls, an NFC Championship Game, the NCAA Men's Basketball Western Regional, and nearly 30 Cardinals games since the facility
opened in 2007.

Prior to relocating to Glendale, McDonald was Operations Manager at Global Spectrum's flagship arena, the Wachovia Center, in Philadelphia, PA. He is a product of growing up in the company, having started as a
changeover supervisor in 1997.

In his new role at PPL Park, McDonald will oversee all of the day-to-day operations of the 18,000-seat facility, including maintenance, game-day preparations, field treatments, and more.

"As a new facility about to open (June 27), we are excited to have Jim McDonald as our Director of Operations," said Union's Tom Veit. "With his experience in opening the Cardinals Stadium and the caliber of
events they've hosted, we look forward to Jim's input, vision and guidance in helping us make PPL Park the marvel of the MLS."

Jim's outstanding experience will allow us to provide the Union with the best playing conditions for both their athletes and their fans," said Global Spectrum Regional Vice President and PPL Park General
Manager Michael Scanlon.
