Sixers forward Elton Brand underwent successful surgery on his right shoulder Monday afternoon.
The procedure, which lasted approximately one hour, repaired his torn labrum and was performed by Dr. Craig Morgan at the Christiana Surgery Center in Wilmington, DE.
Brand suffered a dislocated right shoulder against the Milwaukee Bucks on December 17, 2008. He will miss the remainder of the 2008-09 season.
"That means it looks like a full recovery and he'll be ready for the start of next season," coach Tony DiLeo said. "All the signs are good. The surgery, as far as I know, is not complicated and the success rate is 98 percent. So all things point to [believing] he'll be healthy, and he's a hard worker so he'll be ready to go"
