Report: Bastardo faces 50-game suspension over Biogenesis

While it's not one of the bigger fish to be fried over the Biogenesis flap, the scandal will apparently touch down in Philadelphia once Major League Baseball makes its announcement today.

Phils reliever Antonio Bastardo is reportedly one of the 11 remaining non A-Rod players who will be hit with a 50-game suspension, according to FOX's Ken Rosenthal.

Bastardo, the 27-year-old Dominican left-hander, has gone 3-2 with a 2.32 earned-run average in 48 appearances for the fading Phils this season. He's fanned 47 and walked 21 over 42 2/3 innings and given up just 11 earned runs.

Other players facing down a season-ending ban are Nelson Cruz from the Texas Rangers, Detroit Tigers infielder Jhonny Peralta and Jordany Valdespin of the New York Mets.
