Temple's Cummings has knee surgery

PHILADELPHIA (The Phanatic Magazine) - Temple freshman point guard Will Cummings had successful surgery on Thursday to repair a lateral meniscus tear in his right knee. The surgery was performed at Orange Park Surgery Center in Jacksonville, Fla.

Cummings, who suffered the injury during spring practice, will undergo therapeutic rehabilitation for the remainder of the spring and into the early summer. He is expected to be fully recovered well before the start of practice for the 2012-13 season.

The Jacksonville, Fla. native (Providence School) played in 21 games, making two starts, in his first season at Temple.  He averaged 1.4 points and 6.3 minutes per game in a reserve role behind TU's all-conference backcourt of seniors Ramone Moore and Juan Fernandez, and junior Khalif Wyatt.
