Eagles trade up, snare DT Fletcher

The Philadelphia Eagles traded their first round selection (15th overall), a fourth round selection (114th overall) and a sixth round selection (172nd overall) to the Seattle Seahawks to move up to the 12th pick in the NFL Draft, where they selected DT Fletcher Cox.

An athletic and versatile defensive tackle, Cox was named first-team All-SEC as a junior after collecting 56 tackles and five sacks in his final season at Mississippi State. During his three-year career with the Bulldogs, he amassed 114 tackles, 24.5 tackles for a loss and 8.5 sacks in 36 games (27 starts).

• Finished his career with 114 total tackles, 24.5 tackles for a loss and 8.5 sacks in 36 games (27 starts) during his three-year career at Mississippi State

• Also blocked five kicks during his career

• Earned first-team All-SEC honors as a junior in 2011 after collecting 56 tackles, 14.5 tackles for a loss, five sacks, and two blocked kicks

• Played in 12 games (11 starts) during his sophomore campaign, posting 29 tackles and 6.5 tackles for a loss. Also credited with 2.5 sacks and two blocked kicks

• Played in all 12 games (four starts) during his true freshman season in 2009, earning Freshman All-SEC honors while racking up 29 tackles and 3.5 tackles for a loss

HIGH SCHOOL

-Made 104 total tackles during his senior season, including 10 quarterback sacks while playing for Tony
Woolfolk at Yazoo City High. Also had interception and a fumble recovery.

• During his junior campaign,he had 103 total tackles, including 11 quarterback sacks and two pass interceptions, one of which he returned for a touchdown.
