VILLANOVA, Pa. – Villanova red-shirt junior Maurice Sutton (Largo, Md./Largo High School) suffered a dislocated left thumb in practice this week and will be sidelined as he recovers.
“Our staff and team is disappointed for Mo,” stated Villanova head coach Jay Wright. “He’s been making a contribution to our team on a daily basis and we’ll miss his presence, especially defensively. But the positive in this is that Mo can still maintain his conditioning while the thumb heals and we look forward to getting him back out there, possibly in time to start the Big East season.”
Sutton had appeared in all six of Villanova’s games this season, averaging 1.5 points, 2.7 rebounds and 9.2 minutes per contest.
