The Eagles have signed CB D.J. Johnson to the practice squad.
Originally a rookie free agent signing of the Denver Broncos in 2009, Johnson (6-foot-1, 191) appeared in 10 regular season games with the New York Giants from 2009-10. He was most recently with the Washington Redskins, who claimed him off of the Minnesota Vikings practice squad on 11/8/11. The 26-year-old has also spent time with the Broncos practice squad (2009), and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers (2010).
A two-year letterman at Jackson State, Johnson earned second team All-America honors as a senior in 2008 after finishing third in the conference with five interceptions, including one returned for a touchdown. The Texas City, TX, native was a three-sport star at LaMarque High School in football, basketball and track.
