The Flyers announced that forward Claude Giroux will miss the club's next game, on Tuesday at Washington, and instead will be evaluated by team physicians.
"Claude is continuing to feel better," Flyers GM Paul Holmgren said in a Monday afternoon press conference. "He will not travel with the team today and will be seen by our doctor again tomorrow."
Giroux left Saturday's 5-2 win against the Tampa Bay Lightning in the second period after colliding with teammate Wayne Simmonds, where Simmonds' knee hit the back of Giroux's head.
The 23-year-old notched two assists before departing, to boost his NHL-leading point total to 39.
Sean Couturier has been tabbed as the replacement for Giroux on the club's top line, as the 19-year-old was seen practicing with the top unit in the morning skate.
